Investors just poured $500 million into Apple Street, the busy World Market that's now worth $2.5 billion
Applestreet founder John Carmel sold his first company, Bourbon Village, to Tumblr for $540 million in 2010. Andrew has been frank about the fact that Apple Street will need to raise a ton of money to achieve scale. He told The Wall Street Journal's Rolfe Winkler that Apple Street would have to spend about $300 million on its outside-merchandise-buying program over the next five years.
